Good Points

Generally picks up well with clean filters. Wide range of attachments.


Bad Points

Filters clog too frequently and washing them means a long drying time when the cleaner is out of action. Lightweight plastic body is poorly balanced, it tips backwards too easily with its attachments on board (I now store them separately) and also when extension hose is in use (eg cleaning stairs). The top hook of the cable holder swivels round so the wound cable can slide off.


General Comments

This Hoover DM4494 is not practically designed for regular housework around a house of any size, though it might do for a small flat. The change-over from carpet to tool mode is awkward and involves a lot of bending. The motor seems to run very warm and when it cuts out through extended running time it ineeds to cool for half and hour. Combined with the bad points mentioned above, this is not a cleaner I would recommend.
