Good Points

We went on the med cruise in August. 2 Adults with 2 teenage daughters. The cruise was our second, having travelled with Thompson previously. Thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience with the ship, the staff and the itinerary first rate. Our room was not overly big, but when you consider how little time you spend in it, it certainly does not need to be. The food was out of this world with quality and choice first class. We used several "charge" restaurants, but again this was well worth it on every occasion. We chose to tour on our own which was great fun and cheap. We met a number of alike passengers so the fear factor others may have was eliminated by the very fact that we travelled in groups. Would have no hesitation in recommending this cruise to anyone else considering cruises.

Bad Points

As a number of passengers have explained the lack of supervision of children is a concerning point. Both my daughters are lively, outgoing and very teenagey, however they know how to act responsibly so quickly accompanied us when they realised how poorly behaved many of the teenagers were. I do not blame the cruiseline for this, it was a clear case of the adults electing to have a holiday regardless of what their children do. It is a sad reflection of a changing society when children are both rude but more disappointly selfish in their actions and lack of consideration for others. This was not the most annoying fact, this has to be those passengers who used this and any other excuses to not pay the daily tip tariff. We heard numerous people join in this act of denial. Denial that they had a good time, which all most certainly did. Too penalise the staff who worked so hard of their well earned tips was disgraceful, and to use the behaviour of unsupervised children as a reason for not paying is a sham. All should bow their heads in shame

General Comments

Excellent cruise that was shamefully let down by the ever worsening British culture of 'me first, families second!'. The staff, ship and itinerary as stated were first class and I would not deter anyone from traveling with Norwegian cruise lines. It is unfortunate that they will need to employ 'big baby minders', but I'm sure as with all other issues they will iron this out efficiently and quickly.
