Good Points

It's away from the crowds, the noisy nightlife, and has the best strip of beach just a five minute walk away.

Bad Points

The bar is expensive in comparison with other bars in Kardamena.

General Comments

When we arrived I was apprehensive as it first seems to be in the middle of nowhere. Once you've orientated yourself though, you'll be grateful not to be staying in the centre, or in the huge complex further up the road. We stayed for a week.

As a couple, we had enough cutlery and crockery, four of each. The fride worked very well, nothing was broken. It would have been nice to have a kettle and toaster but I think it's the lack of space on the counter that hasn't allowed for these extra items. The kitchen area has two sofas/beds that I guess are used for couples with children. There is also a table for if you want to eat inside. We ate inside a fair bit as it gets very windy sometimes in the evening.

The bathroom was clean, toilet in good working order, definitely enough space for all cosmetics and toiletries.

The bedroom was nice and spacious. There was a dressing table with little stools, a hardryer, an extra light on top for doing make-up... No complaints there. The balcony was just off the bedroom. The sliding door worked well and we were able to lock it without any problems.

The cupboard also had plenty of space for clothes, with shelves, drawers, and plenty of hanging space. They also provide hangers.

There was a notice in the apartment to let us know that you need to buy your own toilet paper.
There was a roll in the bathroom on arrival. All cleaning products, i.e. washing up liquid and sponges, will need to be purchased as well.

We were only provided with sheets to be used as covers when sleeping (there was also a sheet on the bed). This was fine during our stay but some may find it a little chilly. The bins were changed and the apartment cleaned at least every second day, the towels and sheets were changed at least once during our stay (though we were in on one occassion when the lady came to clean so they may have been changed again if not for this). We also left valuables in drawers and loose change lying on the table and nothing was ever taken.

We didn't need aircon and we didn't get charged for any extras. We paid 25 euro to keep our room for another day as our pickup was at 1am the following morning. This fee usually covers you until 7pm according to the notice in the apartment, but they didn't charge any extra for the additional hours.

We went to a few placesn in Kardamena to eat out. One was Avli, which is lovely and highly recommended. There was another on the beachfront which was lovely, next to Pegasus bar. We only had one bad meal. I stronly advise you not to order any meat unless you like it very well done. It's 1.6 euros each way on the bus if you don't want to splash out on a taxi. They were always on time.

We went to a few bars where we couldn't taste the alcohol in the drinks we ordered. This also happened once at the pool bar and in all cases the alcohol in question was vodka. Maybe they water it down?
Mythos is the local beer and only 2.5 euros in most places. Other beers such as Amstel are a bit more, usually 4 euros. The cocktails are around 3.5 euros, and Pegasus is the best place to have one or two. More than that and you'll walk away very light headed :)

We shopped at Louis Supermarket a few times during our stay. It is a little pricey but if you buy local produce you'll save a bit. Try the freshly prepared olives in the deli section, they're divine! The wine is about 7 euros for a decent bottle, same as here. The cigarettes are obviously much cheaper though, only 3 euro for a pack of 20.

The beach is a bit pebbly, the strip in front of the apartment isn't very clean but if you walk a bit further down in the opposite direction of town you'll find a nice strecth of beach.

Hope you enjoy it as much as we did.
