Easy to setup, Flexible options, layerable security.

No backdoor if locked out by broken usb key for example.

A very good piece of kit, it can be used at home or at work as there are other variants that work with lotus notes or the Citrix client system.

Using the software is very straight forward, after a download you run the setup file and fill in your liscence key when prompted. After a successful install the disk admin pops up so you can begin configuring your logon method.

Here it will show avaliable USB keys, smart cards, Multimedia cards, or sim cards that are inserted. A click on one of them will begin configuration. It will ask you for your username and password you use to login and then store it on the key or device you selected. From that you can set additional options such as a Pin number and/or any form of biometrics such as voice or fingerprint recognition.

You can also configure what it does when the key is removed, and these are: Nothing, Lock workstation, or force logoff.

Other additional options include ignoring keys without Bio ID, useful if you use the same key on multiple computers but one needs Biometrics and the other doesn't, this forces the user to use his biometrics and can also prevent other unprivealedged users from logging in. The final setting is to allow logon with key only, and whilst this is the most effective security, do bear in mind that of the key is lost or broken; you will not be able to get back in.

And thats it, so simple and so effective, and a clean user interface (doesn't support themeing, ideal for ease of useability), and the main logon dialog's logo is changeable, the manual explains about copying a BPM with the correct size into a location (not tried it yet). and Dekart will then use the new image. this is great for networks as you can add a message (such as restricted access on this pc for example) or personalized logo of the company.

Support is very good, and it will work on a variety of windows from 95-to-Vista, Active directory 2000 and 2003 and all NT4.0 Domains as well. As a bonus it does support Novell's eDirectory too if you use Novell's Client 4.81 (or higher), So if you were thinking of adding this to an existing novell setup then, yes it's fully supported.

As for liscensing, it does have multi liscense support if you wish to deploy it on a network, and it can execute Novell login scripts as well.

For a price of £33 from the store, its daft not to get it, as even in the home you can secure your logon space.
