General Comments

I have had an Egg card since they more or less started up and they seemed to be members of the human race.

I have never once in this time gone over my credit limit, or not paid them. I have cleared my account in full on several occasions and made every effort in these uncertain times to pay off more than the minimum amount every month. Now I don't use the card, I simply pay off the balance monthly.
Unfortunately in the past year I have had some personal financial difficulties and have had numerous conversations with their customer services regarding what I see as an extortionate 17.9 percent interest charge. I haven't asked them to give me a dime, just to reduce the interest rate to a more manageable level. Fat chance of that! In a nutshell when I asked them for help, they simply refuse point blank, stating their terms and conditions. One customer service member was so rude I had to refrain myself from jumping down the other end of the phone and ringing his neck. He actually asked me, and I mean I am nearly 50 and he sounded all but 25, if I understood how a credit card worked? I was livid with him..However, at the end of the day Citi group have turned their customer services into a bunch of well trained repeaters that I feel are about as helpful and sincere regarding customers difficulties as a bunch of hard nosed camels (sorry camels). I shall under these circumstances just continue to pay off my balance and never use another credit card again. If only we all stopped paying them, I wonder what they would do then, besides go looking for other jobs. We live in a society where financial institutions can please therselves and then get bailed out when they run into trouble. Anyone lookign for a credit card should think twice.
