General Comments

"Buy one before they all the good ones go"! Having read about this legend machine I recently bought an example from 97 and I love it. It had been de-restriced by the last owner with a straight through pipe and larger jet but it had a slight hesitation at 80kph and was quite hard to start from cold. After reading about the XR's starting issues I took mine down to the local Honda garage and after he re-jetted it back to the std size it fires easily when cold and hot. The bike is comfortable, has lots of torque and low down grunt and is superb on the tracks and road. I love its looks and it will remain with me as the XR 400 is proving to be as good as everyone said.
