I have had a paypal premier account verified for 7 years. No big problems. suddenly they put limitations on my account. money can go in but i cannot touch it. rang customer services they said there was a security issue with my account and i had to prove my identity by faxing them my drivers liscence and a utility bill. i said no as i dont believe this is safe. they said i have to do it if i want to access my account, i cant even close my account it seems. i said okay im not using them again. they said ok! Therefore i do not recommend PayPal.com

I found this review very helpful because...I thought I was the only one suffering this appalling treatment by Paypal. It's a small comfort to know I am not alone.....It is alarming, although not really surprising, that they have pulled this scam on others as well. Paypal have frozen my account, refusing to release my money because of security issues. They are asking me to fax a document with my photo. My bank, and Consumers Direct, strongly advise me not to do so. I strongly suspect that Paypal, or someone who works there, is trying to steal my identity. I think Paypal are the Pirates of the Internet! They steal your money, with useful co-operation from the EU. (EU Anti Money Laundering Regulation gives Paypal the weapon they need to plunder and pillage!) They must be making a fortune in interest on our money, even after they take their hefty commission. They are disgusting, and their Customer Service is a joke. One of their agents even claims to be called 'Jester' - how appropriate - except it is not funny to lose over £1,000.......I would like to know whether magpie2002d got their money back in the end, or did they give up and let the Pirates keep it???
