Good Points

Accommodation good providing basic items needed. Location right on the beach, close to all you need for an enjoyable and peaceful getaway. Plenty of restaurants and bars all within a short walking distance along the beach


Bad Points

Family who own Elpida and Yiannis not overly friendly and not one word of welcome did we receive. I felt that holiday makers have to be tolerated for the income they generate. If you have not booked a room directly through them, you don't get any of their better rooms with clear pool or sea views. "Only private bookings get sea view rooms" this was quoted by the owner. So if you book through a hotel room agent, forget any room requests you make. Having to let their rooms via agents at reduced rates is definitely reluctantly done by the owners


General Comments

Notices inside your room door with instructions to respect you room. If you mark sheets with Henna tattoos you will be charged. Not what I want to be greeted with. A welcome to the Elpida and hope you enjoy your stay with us would have been much more appreciated. I later found out from the owners that they have had guests who have abused the facilities and I sincerely do feel sorry that they have had to bear the cost and distress from people whom should be ashamed. We only bought a few drinks and a couple of snacks purposely from the Elpida beach snack bar, simply walking along the beach to other bars for drinks and food during our stay. Unfortunately, I feel the owners are now no longer able to see arriving holiday makers as anything less than potential guests from hell! I attempted to explain on the last day of my holiday that even at the end of a very nice 8 days that I did still feel somewhat unwelcomed however unintentional on their behalf. My comments were immediately dismissed and denied and therefore will probably not taken in the constructive way in which they were intended which is sad. I would no be put off going again and would be up to speed what to expect. Also be prepared for extra charges such as air con at 6 euros per night. If you want sunbed on the beach they are 3.50 euros each per day. Our room was only quickly cleaned and 2 bath towels and 1 hand towel left twice during our 8 day stay. I did not complain to the cleaners as they have limited time allocated to each room and work hard. Did end up buying loo rolls from the supermarket.
