Good Points

- Have a good range of horses (good at jumping, confidence givers, plods etc)
- Some very good/nice/sympatetic instructors
- Holds competitions, own a pony day etc
- Indoor and outdoor arena
-Price is okay compaired with other schools in the manchester area.

Bad Points

- Don't seem to match the right horse with rider i.e. height, weight, ability etc (i got put on a 17.2 ish bunty/bounty when i was 8)
- Some riding instructors aren't very sympathetic/understanding
- Classes are extremely big and when working in open order can be dangerous, as many don't follow the arena rule: PASS LEFT TO LEFT!
- Don't get abilities in the right groups.

General Comments

I learnt to ride at ryders around 12/13 years ago and have recently gone back to having lessons there. Most of Ryders Farm staff are friendly as are the horses. You generally ride a different horse each week. You learn a lot. You can have a group lesson or a have private lesson. They have a pony club for children they have own a pony day during holidays for people to look after a horse for a day and then do a jumping in the afternoon. Indoor and outdoor arenas.

A few of the horses that were there when i learnt to ride are (apparently 3 are still there!): Dante/Dantie (the lovely palomino) Toby (amazing jumper), bracken (the old man), tom & jerry, bounty (HUGEEE like 17.2), snowlin (one of my faves gorgeous little dapple grey), smokie, Oscar (cheeky little thing), Avril, Humphrey, dolly, kylie, phantom (my fave fave fave horse haha true to his name), gypsy (skewbald), sammy, Bessie (big black hairy thing feathers on her feet), Henry and Nelly.

I rode snowlin/snowlyn back in the day and I can't believe smokie's back ^.^ i remember being the first to ride him when he was in the livery's block when he first came and i ended up coming off because his girth was too big bless! mandy and Katie-may have been there around 12 years now and george was there about 5 years ago lol so they must be getting on a bit.

Although i feel that the riding school only caters to a certain level and i wouldn't really recomend to a fairly advanced rider wanting to get the most out of a lesson, especially when there's 10/11 others on the same lesson.
