Bad Points

I currently have a major problem where the power cable doesnt work... at all now. I used to be able to twist the cable where it enters the laptop, and the power would come on eventually and generally work- not a major fact because I was always able to get the power on and charge battery/power assist by twisting the cable. However, now I do this it doesnt work - the power cable seems to be dead, therefore the laptop cant turn on because it has no battery - has anyone else experienced this? The laptop itself works spot on, its the power cable that isnt charging the laptop. It is really frustrating as I need it for work. I have heard that maplins does a universal power cable that could solve my problem, or is it more like a fault from within the laptop? I hear alot about faulty motherboards within Advent laptops, could this be it??


General Comments

I have had two previous laptops (Sony & Compaq) and I must say the Advent one I have now has pleasantly surprised me in its performance and speed. I use it for work, programmes such as Revit and CAD and social use including gaming and it has always ran efficiently and quickly for everything.

The laptop itself is simply the best around for the price, I have had mine for a year and a half and never experienced problems associated with the actual laptop, however the power cable is a different story - it simply doesnt work-I plug it in as normal but the battery light doest come on in the bottom right hand corner despite having the green light on on the cable.
