Good Points

The main reason I enjoyed this book is because it continues a story I've grown to enjoy. It is also written slightly better than the first two books which is much appreciated - eases the annoyance level lol.

Bad Points

It seems like the author forgets things which he sets out for Eragon to do. One example is telling Arya and the elves about the gentlemen who can see where magic is stored. He will probably play a key later in being able to tell Eragon where Murtagh keeps his heart of hearts hidden, but it is irresponsible of Eragon to let the matter slip his mind.

Another huge annoyance was with Eragon's apparent care-free attitude towards storing magic or imbuing items to heal Saphira which was first witnessed by Murtagh's healing of Thorn. As for the magic, the only time he stores any that I can recall is right before he takes off to help elect the next dwarf king. This seems to be extremely irresponsible of Eragon or a huge overlook by Christopher. Same goes with the items to heal...in the book Eragon says, "I should've thought of that!"...and then forgets it lol.

General Comments

The book is a bit slower than expected (he might've been able to get the story finished in this book if he cut out all the inconsequential parts), but it expands on a plot and characters which I enjoy finding out more about. Judging off this last book, I would probably get interested in another series by Christopher Paolini if he does indeed put another out...I just hope that future books address the issues listed above.
