Churchill Car Insurance Review

Gave me the best quote out of all the insurance companies I tried, and with all the advertising they do I thought they would be a reliable company...

I was wrong...

I recently had quite a bad car crash. I was completely 100% not at fault, the police actually witnessed the crash and even they said I am completley not at fault.
So I phoned Churchill the day after the crash, explained what happened and they seemed very helpful and said they would get working on it straight away...
I found out the day after from the police my car was a write off (unable to be repaired) so I was without a car and needed one to get to work.
5 days passed and I didn't hear from them once, I am sure of this as I didn't even leave the house so, I rang them back and discovered they would not give me a courtesy car as the car is a write off. Fair enough so I asked what they will do instead... They said they would look over the crash and if I wasn't at fault (which I wasn't) they would give me a cheque for the full price of the car.
I was very happy about this as I thought I wouldn't be without a car... a week passed and I had only heard from the police, they said they are unfortunately keeping the car at one of their garages for evidence, I wasn't bothered as I knew it was a write off and just wanted my cheque..
I rang Churchill again, told them about what the police said and they said they would get back to me, they actually rang me back the same day and told me they would not send me a cheque for the car until it had been released by the police so they can make sure its a write off. I was unhappy about this as the police told me they would probably keep the car for quite a long as investigations like this can take quite a while. So I personally had to arrange between the police and my insurance company for them to be allowed to go and look at the car in the garage it was kept at. The police agreed so I left it with Churchill to get back with me, I thought it might take it a bit of time, a week passed and still I heard nothing. I needed a car desperatly at this point as I had no way but getting taxis, buses and trains to work...
To cut a long story short, Churchill have still not been to see my car at this garage, at the time of writing this review the accident happened around 6 weeks ago. I have actually bought a new car, obviously without a cheque and I still havn't heard anything from Churchill!
I am so annoyed, in over 6 weeks nothing seems to of been done by them, at all...
Would not recommend them in any circumstances due to my experience.

  Still nothing has been done with my car, the garage and I have not yet been contacted still by Churchill unless I have missed the calls, therefore I will have to sort it out at dinner breaks at work!
