Good Points

The sites were tremendous, we were not disappointed at all in this respect. I especially recommend the trip to Abu Simbel, which starts early, but it was exactly as I expected it to be, awesome. The television series about Egypt, fired the imagination, and I was able to say I remember this to so many things. The guides were also adequate, their knowledge adding to the overall experience within the historic sites. The flights to and from Luxor, were also good, even though delayed both ways by about an hour.


Bad Points

Where to start. The cabin booked was not the one we were originally given, but we did manage to get that changed. The television services were not what I expected, and the TV didn't work properly for part of the trip. The standard of cleanliness was below what I consider to be acceptable on board ship. The food was not as expected, had little variety, and in a lot of cases was inedible. The suggested tipping system was expensive, but worked out well for those receiving. Every tour was mobbed by people trying to hard sell you overpriced items, which became very intimidating for some of the women on the trip. We were also robbed of money, from our cabin, when docked in Luxor at the end of our trip while in port at Luxor. The tour guides went to great lengths to explain each historic site, but this meant standing in the very hot sun for long periods, which resulted in a lack of interest after about 30 minutes. Also if you take any of the extra excursions sold on the trip, then be sure to ask about timings etc as they can prove to be too much, on top of the normal itinerary.


General Comments

Overall the holiday was a bitter experience, we were glad to have seen the sites, but we feel we paid to big a price for the privilege. The constant barrage of people wanting money from us was sickening and this was made worse by the fact that this was allowed to continue. All in all a disappointing experience, and one I would not recommend to anyone else.
