Good Points
Have been doing L/Life for apporx six weeks and have lost about 40 pounds. Found the best thing is that you don't have spend hours reading food products labels etc to see what you can/cannot eat. Isn't that expensive when you work out what you spend on food in first place that has made you overweight.

Bad Points
Miss out on the social side of eating. Family meals out etc. Is easier not to attend or actually do the meal or cooking as you don't miss the eating side as much if you are busy serving others.

General Comments
Main things I have found out from this diet is the reasons I gained so much weight. The outcome is simple for me. Through not having 'normal' food it is clear to see that being overweight is due to my lifestyle. Not because I am a large build, slow metabolic rate, its in the family, gain weight quicker than anybody, any other excuse.

Some people unfortunately do have medical reasons, others like me have let weight get the better of them. Some foods are addictive and when you get depressed or stressed you crave them. Although I am still on L/Life I still get these urges but not as regular.

Having a desk job means that I should be exercising more than somebody with a physical job if I am to burn what I eat. Also eating late in the evening after finishing work late is the worst thing possible for me, especially when you know that you will have breakfast the next morning when all you have done in between is slept and stored most of what you have eaten the night before.

L/Life meetings help but the real problem is going to be once I reach my target weight and maintaining. For me it is very simple. If I don't eat better and exercise more regularly I will be back to the size I was. Without doubt L/Life is a diet that works. As the meetings show you though, lifestyle changes are required along with a change in eating habits.

As for people who say this diet is bad for you, show me a diet that isn't. Every diet I have seen has a bad side in comparison to eating healthy and exercising. For me the main problem was that I tried exercising whilst overweight running three miles a day for three weeks. Got so many aches and pains it was unreal and only lost 2lbs.

If you aren't overweight and feel the lighterlife or any other diet is bad for you try going for a run with a rucksack with 70lbs (5st) in on your back and it may give you an idea of how difficult it is to get into exercise once the weight is on and how afterwards you don't feel very good. (until you take the rucksack off)
