I run a mainly cash based retail business and since switching from one of the big four to A&L commercial bank I now make a profit on my banking when you take their good rates of interest on their deposit account and relativly low charges when dealing with cash through the current account.
Bad Points
I have found that the online banking was a bit awkward to set up, However I am a bit of a techno dunce and have not really tried for some time to sort it out, I expect it has improved.
General Comments
Overall I am much happier with Alliance and Leicester Commercial Bank in comparison to my previous bank which did not give anywhere near the level of interest on company savings on deposit. I have never had a problem with the telephone banking service except that they will block large transactions without written proof of the order from a verified scource. However as this is due to security concerns I am wholly in favor of this approach.
