Good Points

I have read "A Widow for One Year" as it was recommended to me and it was the first book I have read by Irving. After reading this book I wanted to read further novels written by him.

Bad Points

The beginning was very shocking for me. The 1st scene where the little girl catches her mama having sex with the intern who was hired by her father. But maybe that was the reason why I keep on reading. I simply wanted to understand what happened before that strange scene.

General Comments

I loved 'A Widow for One Year.' It covered many controversial topics such as love and hate, marriage and faithfulness / betrayal, initiation of a young man and how this first love changes his life. There is only one Irving! Read "A Widow for One Year" - I am convinced that you will enjoy it.
