I thought that this was a really good horror film with an original idea. The gore will please fans and you can hear the sickening noises as heads and bodies get smashed. Vinnie Jones is surprisingly good as the killer although he gets very little dialogue. The atmosphere and suspense in each scene is quite palpable too. I have no idea why this did not get a wider release at the cinema since it is a lot better than some of the crud that distributors send out. It will go to the top of the DVD ratings.

The only downside is the lead Bradley Cooper. He tries his best but he is not really leading man material.

On the whole I thoroughly enjoyed The Midnight Meat Train and would recommend people to watch it and show Lionsgate what the fans really want. Instead of redoing the same plot as in the Saw franchise please give us more of this kind of film. I hope that more films are made of the Clive Barker books.
