Hotel Good Points:
1). Staff are the most friendly and helpful I have met anywhere.
2). Nice pool area and there was no problem getting a sunbed anytime of the day. Best of all are the views from the pool area! The mountains are towering right over you! Sensational!
3). Rooms are basic, but kept very clean. Maid service was daily.
Location:
Dolmuses pass the hotel every 30 seconds and are air conditioned and very cheap. Hisarounu Centre is easy enough to walk to. We enjoyed having a nice 15 minute stroll in and out of Hisaronu Centre in the evening rather than being right in the middle of it.
*Hotel Bad Points:
*I've noticed some negative reference to the Hotel food with other reviews. We only went B&B, the breakfasts were typical of a Turkish Hotel Breakfast in that they were basic. We were fine though and had toast the mornings we did get up!
Recommended Restaurants:
The food is good, I did not have a bad meal out there. The best two restaurants we ate at were:
1). Butterflys (Hisaronu - Turkish Restaurant)
2). Chilli Land (Hisaronu - Mexican Restaurant)
Summary:
I would not hesitate to come back to the Ovacik/Hisaronu area and would happily stay at Monta Verde again. For a budget hotel it over performs in all areas. So many people return to Hisaronu every year and it is easy to see why
P.S.
Recommended Excursion:
1). 12 Island Boat Trip. You must go on this! Its a full day; 10-5.30. You will stop at 4 or 5 of the islands for 45 minutes or so for a swim. Beautiful scenery. A big old Turkish woman made us lunch on the boat which was very nice; fish/chicken/meatballs with salad and rice. It only cost £7 pp for the trip! There are 100s of boats offering this trip, we went on a really nice one with lots of return customers on the trip, though I cannot remember its name. We left from Fethiye very calm waters; apparently from Oludeniz it would have been a bit choppy coming in and out.
