Good Points

They offer several automated methods to collect premiums. Online, credit card and direct mail. The rates were reasonable compared to other carriers.


Bad Points

To file a claim was a complete nightmare. Homesite managed the actual claim and they had a high turnove rate with claims staff. The online site never worked to file claims so you had to wait on phone for hours.


General Comments

AIG give the impression of being a large insurance company that could improve a lot. They are very efficent in the claims denial department. I was hit with large snow storm that damaged my flat roof. The experts that Homesite hired to evaluate the damage concluded that my roof was not built to withstand this large storm so it must be workmanship. The claim was denied and I have replaced my roof at my own cost. AIG are not the best, there certaintly must be better companies than these guys.
