Good Points

Pretty good vibration dampening by itself, I love the sound of every release and the end result fascinates me. I've been hitting X spot on far more frequently than I have ever using other bows.

Bad Points

A little heavy for starters - but you'll soon get used to it. Not the best looking riser currently, my coach calls it "ancient equipment" but you gotta know get your priorities right in fitting your budget.

General Comments

I use a Hoyt Gold Medalist fitted with Hoyt Edge limbs, 34# draw weight. Bought it as used at a steal price, previous owner won several gold medals after switching to it many years back & has since upgraded, GM the name speaks for itself. Being relatively new in this sport I didn't want to invest too much in so soon but I needed good & reliable tool to start off with that will accompany me as I grow in the sport (till comes the time to upgrade). Well, I have no regrets cos from the very moment I took over I starter shooting with it the very same day after some tuning, my scores improved dramatically even at my first hands-on. Shooting X's, 10's & 9's very rarely falling out at the target butt range at 10m (40cm targets), no disappointments or drops in score variance for 18m. I've not shot any further than 18m so you have to excuse me as I am only a one and a half month baby in archery. So for me as a beginner this is one rock solid investment. I've tried my hands at KAP, Samick and a few others that my seniors were using but I settled with this faithful companion thats proven itself time and again in many major competitions. In fact, I'm already putting my seniors to shame with my Hoyt thanks to my coaches attention in helping me develop my shooting 'gift' as they call it and fueling my love for this sport. Hopefully in future I will make it tops in my own local arena. I compose and shoot 200-300 arrows at my club/range about 4-5 times a week out of 7 days (a mix of indoor & outdoor ranges) and No, I don't shoot like a Gatling gun. Archery is really fun!
