Good Points

Back to regular "e" tuning. Improved drum sound, since last album. Hetfields got his growl back. Hammett is soloing again. Lars' snare work is excellent. Most of the songs have great hooks.

Bad Points

Lars could've attacked, with the double bass drums a little more. Unforgiven 3 opens with piano and sounds kinda strange, considering the obvious aggression, of the whole of the album. Hetfield, at times, tends to wail a little off key vocally.

General Comments

Overall, an outstanding album. I've been an enormous Metallica fan, since I was a kid, when they were an under ground phenomenon and this is the finest album they've made, since the black album. The songs are all really strong and stand on their own. This is the 1st time, in 17 years, that I will want to listen to each and every song, each and every time I play this album. During the Load-era and St. Anger, that wasn't the case. I was skipping songs here and there.
Once again, 2 thumbs up!!
