General Comments

Well, having read some of the other comments of this Morphy Richards 48268 breadmaker, it doesn't sound like I'm describing the same machine. Works flawlessly and produces delicious bread. Makes about as much noise as a dishwasher for 10 to 15 minutes at a time. I found it very easy to get the bread out of the pan. Usually the paddle stayed in the pan, but sometimes sticks in the bread. Not hard to get out though, and only leaves a small hole. I was careful to follow the instructions about seasoning the pan and soaking briefly in warm water after each use and it's been working fine. I noticed this model got a very good review in Which too.
However, the recipes in the book contain a lot of sugar and produce quite sweet tasting bread, which I personally find rather unpleasant. Despite the dire warnings in the manual about following recipes exactly, I halved the amount of sugar and got delicious results. A bit of experimentation allowed me to use my own handbaking recipes, and even make rye bread (well, half rye and half brown) The French bread setting is surprisingly good too.
Great machine and excellent value: paid for itself in months.
