Good Points

Fantastic picture and audio! I have owned the Yamaha DVD-S796 for just about 1 year and love it. Never had any problems with scratched disks, skipping, pixelization, etc. Remote is very easy to navigate (even in the dark) once you have spent a few minutes with it. I have all Yamaha components in my Home Theater and this fits perfectly with everything else I own.


Bad Points

Price was a little much. I paid close to $500 (excluding cables). However, it does everything I want it to do, so I can't complain too much. Oh, and if listening to burned disks are important to you, this one doesn't do it.


General Comments

The Yamaha DVD-S796 is a great DVD player! Rock solid on audio and video. If you want a machine to play burned disks, mp3's, etc. then look elsewhere. If you want to watch movies theater style, then this yamaha is for you.
