Good Points

Free For Basic Service.

Bad Points

Awful service - full of technical glitches and very unhelpful customer service. Quite often the service is unavailable or unreliable.

General Comments

I would not advise anyone to trust important emails to this service. A year ago they deleted all the mail I had saved in my in-box and despite much correspondence never even apologised. Now I am unable to forward email or print it and they don't respond to technical support requests. I'm taking my custom elsewhere.

Important, please be aware that:

Ahgggg it gets worse. Lycos have finally told me that they have closed my email account because I was sending SPAM. I have never sent SPAM in my life and they will not provide the evidence to back up what they are saying - they have just closed my account and deleted all my saved emails without asking me or telling me why (and bear in mind I have been with them for 10 years - it isn't a recently opened account).
