I am now retired and still struggling to get my money out of Aegon Scottish Equitable. I have filed complaints with all relevant agencies, but most either didn't want to know or said my complaint was "outside their scope". The Pensions Ombudsman currently has my complaint but seems reluctant to support me in any way. Ten year annualised returns have been only 2.2% and most of this was gained in 1998. Since then, my "investment" has been falling in value despite the fact that Aegon fact sheets claim good annual gains. The Pensions Ombudsman sees nothing wrong with this. I strongly advise people not to invest in an Aegon Scottish Equitable pensions scheme, and, if you have one, move it as soon as you can - if they will let you, that is.
