Good Points

July 2008 on the Alaskan Cruise out of Vancouver and thoroughly enjoyed it. The ship was very clean with good facilities. The Seven Seas Restaurant was excellent, eg., First dinner: Scallops & asparagus, Lobster tail, Cheese & bics. A delightful menu each evening, with the food cooked to perfection. Stateroom + balcony not luxurious, but clean and perfectly adequate.
I was very impressed with the routine hand sanitization on boarding the ship each time and, on entering the dining rooms.
Thoroughly enjoyed the Tracey Arm Fjord part of the cruise, just amazing.


Bad Points

The Tapas Bar was very disappointing - a glorified sandwich bar - no authentic tapas.
On several occasions, the Observation Lounge was 'closed' for private functions. A Bad Point indeed. This particular lounge should be accessible to all, at all times and the 'privates' should be held elsewhere. The 'speciality' restaurants with a cover charge, a bad point - but didn't need to use them, so no problem.


General Comments

Thoroughly enjoyed the cruise and would not hesitate to recommend it. I would actually like to do it again, without my camera! Was a little disappointed with stateroom + balcony, but it was clean and perfectly adequate - guess I had expected a little more luxury in the sitting area and the ensuite. Was surprised at the wide age range. A daily 'gratuity' is added to each person's account. It does take the hassle out of 'tipping'. I don't expect the crew are on high wages, they work long hours and remain courteous and pleasant - I think they deserve it.
