Good Points

Ten times to the hotel must say how good this hotel is!

Bad Points

The rooms do need a bit of refreshing as they haven't been decorated in years

General Comments

Hi Everyone!
Ten times to the hotel must say how good this hotel is! Granted, the location is out of Bugibba if you want a more lively night out but the courtesy bus is punctual and regular and does have a trip to Valletta and St Julians if you want it at extra cost! In some ways, it is nice to be out of Bugibba and Qawra as the hotel is right by the sea.
The entertainment is very good and always has a good participation from all ages!
I disagree that All Inclusive makes you feel a second class citizen how you pay with cards, it is very generous and you can have whatever you want, when you want it.
The rooms do need a bit of refreshing as they haven't been decorated in years, but are clean and tidy and comfortable which is important. We had a sea view room which was really nice but the country view rooms are in some ways nicer as you have the sun all day.
Contrary to what some has said, the food is as good as it has ever been and I have been going since 1999. Theme nights (Maltese and Italian) are held and the excellent Pizzas in Lacosta coffee shop are still available. I well recommend the Tuna Melt Ciabatta for an excellent Lunch washed down with the ubiquitous Kinnie.
Many of the staff are like friends to me now, having watched me grow up from when I used to go with my parents and know me by name and several ex staff members still speak too, which bears out that the Maltese are a friendly people. I was eager to take my partner to the Coastline for her first trip to Malta too and they all made her feel so welcome and part of the family!
I would say that some guests when we were there were quite rough and there was incidents of late night pool parties and general misbehaviour which were dealt with by security and also the flies around the pool bar were incredible, so take some good fly repellent with you.
I would recommend the coastline to anyone as a great hotel in Malta. Be mindful that the pool area does fill up fast especially in the summer and Salina Bay has not got a beach, but it is a good base for towns and resorts nearby as the bus stops outside and a beach is within 10 minutes drive!
I am so sad that I cannot return anymore, as I am only 30 and SAGA have exclusive rights for the next few years and I will miss it, as there is not a better hotel in Malta for me.
Those people who have been so negative, have you been to the same hotel????

I found this review not helpful because...this is probably one of the worst hotels I have ever stayed in (July 2008). The food experience resembles 1960s school meals with the same quality and charm of service. There are swarms of flies at most outside pool and pool bar locations. I was also approached by the in house time share sharks who attempt to con you into purchase of other Island Hotel Group properties.
