Good Points

Not impressed, no good points.

Bad Points

Concrete ballast weight fell off after 2 years. Bolts sheared in half that holds this on to machine. Also plastic ridges inside drum have fallen off.

General Comments

I bought a Silver coloured Beko washing machine on 9.9.06 It is a WMA520S. Today I discovered that the concrete ballast weight attached to the bottom of the drum has fallen off because both bolts have completely sheared in half. Because the bolts have sheared any repair would be uneconomic as the drum would need to be replaced involving dismantling most of the machine. I consider that this is a design fault and that these bolts should not have sheared at all in a machine of only 2 years old. The machine has only been used for normal domestic purposes. I have just complained to Beko.

I have just read your review on the Beko washing machine I have exactly the same problem with my Beko purchased 2 years ago I wondered what the black powder was under the machine on investigation its the block totally off with the sheared off bolt on the floor not only that the door leaks the machine regularly ended up in the middle of the floor having danced out on the spin cycle. I too will complain to Beko as surely this is a design fault i would be interested to hear of your progress with your complaint.

I agree with this review because...as i have exactly the same problem and have already commented well a brief update....beko contacted me today and suprise suprise the machine is out of warranty they cannot help but have given me a phone number to call out an approved engineer....failing that go back to where i purchased it from...i will not be letting this rest

I found this review helpful because... I am having problems with my beko wma520s washing machine, it is bouncing around the kitchen making all sorts of banging noises and has also developed a small leak. Upon reading this site i have discovered that the ballast weight underneath the washer is loose...

oooops made some errors in my last post. my first mahine was a wma 510w and the machine that has just fallen apart with the very same problem as the first is the wma 520s. i have not long got off the phone to beko who said they will replace the parts needed to repair my machine and i will have to pay labour costs. i have said that's not what i want and that i want someone higher up to contact me as there is clearly a fault with the manufacturing of the machines.
