Excellent gears (Shimano Deore), good forks (RockShox Tora) with remote lockout, strong frame. Good saddle, post and stem.
Bad Points
Cheap and nasty cage pedals collapse easy. No bidon cage as standard.
General Comments
This Giant 2009 Alias is a great bike for getting into XC. It is relatively light and I always feel in control on this bike. Positive and quick gear levers make pedaling in correct cadence very easy.
The collapsing pedal cages make it hard to get into without using hands.
