Our Hotpoint FF175B fridge/freezer began giving problems after 18 months. In the past six weeks we have had four calls by Hotpoint engineers for repair to the fridge/freezer. Each time the engineer has assured us that the fault was rectified and each time it has worked for up to a week (sometimes less).
Today the engineer has had to contact Hotpoint help line and has been told to order a part which will not be available for another week. In the meantime, we are throwing away good food or having to farm our supplies out to neighbours. Furthermore, we now have no confidence that this latest "repair" will work. I should add that although we have insurance with Domestic & General, with one exception, it has taken a week or more to get an engineer to call. We would not buy any Hotpoint equipment in future, nor would we bother to take up insurance.
