I have loved these books since I was a little girl growing up at Brize Norton AFB, Oxfordshire England. I have purchased these books for my grand daughters and great nieces to help instill in them a love for art, poetry, gardening, and imagination.

The illustrations "The Complete Book of the Flower Fairies" are absolutely beautiful. The originals were done in watercolor and the clarity and beauty of the transparent paints is obvious in the artwork. The poetry is simple and intended for young readers but is a wonderful way to start teaching appreciation of the form. The fairies are whimsical and non-threatening and the flowers are potrayed in a natural setting. To this day, I love to garden, water color and write stories of fairies for my children and grand children.
