Sales Assistants
I shoppped in Superdrug in Pailsley on Friday 05-09-2008. I want to advise you of my experience of what I feel was unacceptable customer service. Recently the perfume display in the store has been brought down to the front of the store where the checkout used to be. I approached one of the three sales assistants at the perfume counter (who were apparently standing chatting among themselves) and proferred my purchase for payment. I was told to go to the other side of the store where I could pay for my purchase there.
I took my purchase over to the checkout and stood behind four school girls who had purchased make up. The girl who was being attended to noticed that she had brought the wrong shade of eyeshadow and went to change it. The sales assistant advised her as she was buying two of the same product she was entitled to a product free. The girl went off to change her product the sales assistant at this point never even seemed to acknowledge my presence. The girl came back with the correct eyeshadow but not her free product and the sales assistant pointed this out to her and asked her to go and select another product. The schoolgirl said to the sales assistant perhaps you should serve this lady (the sales assistant up to this point had still not acknowledged my presence) I thanked the school girl and said to the sales assistant 'I should think so too' to which she retorted that they were entitled to their free gift. I told the sales assistant I was not disputing that what I was disputing was her customer service skills. At this point she totally ignored me and spoke to someone who appeared to be her mother who was behind me in the queue. It will be in Boots in Paisley for me from now on.
