Refuse to put me back into the position that I was in before the accident, for which I was in no way to blame.


General Comments

Blameless victim of this accident which occurred 14/04/08, the car in front of me stopped abruptly I stopped, but the car behind me did not, and shunted me into the car in front . My claim is still unresolved. I want my car, a 14 year old well maintained, and reliable Astra, that I was happy with, and which I was not intending to replace in the foreseeable future, repaired, SO AS TO PUT ME BACK INTO THE POSITION THAT I WAS IN BEFORE THIS ACCIDENT, instead of being written off. This I feel is right in principle, and is what I understand the law says should happen. But of course Zurich does not want to know, and their offered settlement would leave greatly out of pocket, inconvenienced, by having to find another car of a similar value, specification and reliability, without any transport for the journeys I need to make in my everyday life, and in connection with my activities, playing bowls, and being in a brass band. Why should I be out of pocket, and inconvenienced, through no fault of mine? Zurich is also totally incapable of the common courtesy of replying to correspondence, and answering my queries. Granted the value of my car is quite a lot less than the cost of repairing it, some £1600, but the cost of my claim is, I would think, considerably less than most accident claims these days.
