Good Points

Secure Parking at some locations but don't leave the car park too late or there won't be a space when you get back meaning you have to park on the street.

Bad Points

Where to start, F1 hotels are similar to cheap hostels. While you don't share a room with other people, you do share toilet and shower facilities. I stayed in 10 F1 hotels across France and I'd say my biggest complaint was that even though they claimed to have Air Conditioning, they didn't! I was driving 3000 Miles in two weeks and the amount of sleep lost by not having the air conditioning when trying to sleep at night made the drive much more difficult. The Staff (if you can find them) are often not at the desk and usually are not rude but abrupt with short unhelpful answers. Most of the rooms comprise a double bed with a single bunk overhead. As heat rises, if your on the bunk bed your going to feel it more. Many of the locations are not in the best areas,. When I was staying in Nice, there were no F1 hotels available so I stayed at the IBIS Nice and the difference was unbelieveable, so nice to stay in a real hotel. I couldn't see myself staying at F1 again.

General Comments

They seem to be in the process of renovating many of the F1 hotels in France at the moment installing air conditioning in some of the hotels and general painting. When I stayed at F1 in Nantes, it was like staying in a building site, all the walls and floors had been stripped, no signs to direct you to your room as they had been removed for decorating. 8 AM and the builders were at it again hammering and drilling, I thought people go away on holidays to get away from this sort of thing? At the end of the day you get what you pay for, there's a reason this hotel chain are so low priced.
