Good Points

Well refined especially the V6. Quiet and smooth. Quality spacious interior. Economical when driven with respect. Excellent options available such as sat nav, xenons, premuim ice, adjustable pedals and steering column, rain sensing wipers and auto lights, voice control, bluetooth etc.


Bad Points

Poor autobox if not updated with latest software. Body suffers from water ingress in both boot and engine compartment, steering column squeeks at certain temperatures, climate control distrubutes hot air to one side of the cabin by itself when aircon set to cold.


General Comments

I have owned my 2004 (53plate) Jaguar S Type 3.0 V6 SE for 18 months. I am dissapointed in the car due to the issues I have experienced. Overall I love the car but my frustrations are directly with the dealership. I cannot drive the car after it has been raining as I get a restricted performance warning on the dash and the car has little power. The car is back in the dealership at the time of writing this review! This is the 3rd time in as little as 12 months that it has been in for this issue. There are Jaguar TSB's detailing all the problems I have had but Jaguar want to charge you for rectifying them, especially if your warranty does not cover the problem. If you purchase an S-Type, please ensure you have a good warranty which covers you for not only mechanical, but trim and electrical too.

    I have read that some owners experiance a power problem with the car when driving in the rain or in my case even after going through a car wash!
    My garage has checked my 2000 3.0ltr auto twice and can`t find what the problem is. has anyone got the answer please because the car even judders badly when driving it in the slightest rain and the dashboard light for `workshop` keeps flashing.

    Has any one found out what the problem is when driving the S-Type in the rain and the power cuts out? Mine even judders like crazy even after going through a car wash with the dashboard light for `workshop` flashing non stop!!! Mines a Mk1 2000 3.0ltr
