General Comments

I have found Tesco absolutely terrible to deal with and have now cancelled my policy with them. Had accident at mini-roundabout as I was turning right due to another car not giving way and causing our cars to collide. As Claims had closed for the night, I called them the following morning to report the claim. They told me my excess would be £550, when I thought this did not sound right they quickly changed it to £300! To be fair, my car was collected, repaired and fixed quickly but this is where the good service ends! The claims department called me to confirm exactly what happened, I explained & also gave witness details as luckily someone had seen what happened and the other driver admitted liability at the scene. Several days later, I receive a letter from the other parties insurance saying they are making a claim against me, which Tesco also received. Three weeks on, still not heard back - call Tesco to see what is going on - they say nothing as still not received witness statement and they haven't chased it up. Also informed me that despite it being my right of way AND having witnesses, I might not get my excess back! Could not believe it! Was told I would get a call back if rec'd - STILL not heard anything, so I chase them up yet AGAIN and the witness statement HAS appeared after all! So now I am just waiting, apparently there is a 2 week delay before they do anything as they are inundated with claims! The service has been appalling, and some of the staff I dealt with were unhelpful! To make it worse, I have lost my no claims bonus whilst all this is sorted out so have also had to pay another £200 over the odds for next years policy! (with another company!).

    Have finally got some good news - the other party has admitted liability at last and I will be getting my excess and no claims bonus back shortly. I only found this out after calling Tesco again........
