Good Points

Really good selection of dresses - this was going to be the first shop I went to to look for a wedding dress and in the end I never needed to go any further.

The girl who helped me select a dress was incredibly helpful. I went over my hour's slot, but she never pressured me to hurry up and make a decision (maybe this was because by this point I had confirmed I would buy a dress that day, it was just a question of deciding between the 4 I had tried on?)


General Comments

The first fitting at Ring O' Roses, Sydenham a few weeks later was a different experience. I did feel pressured to hurry up, and the staff who took my balance payment seemed unhelpful and rather rude to me. I had no feeling of 'you're the customer - who has just paid £1000 for a dress by the way - and we appreciate your custom'.

My conclusion (also watching the experience of other brides in the shop) is that I think your experience will depend entirely on the person who serves you. If you are lucky enough to get the right person, you could have an excellent experience, but if you get the wrong person, you could find them seemingly rude and unhelpful.

The other downside is the apparent lack of appointment flexibility. To try dresses on for the first time I was only allowed to go during weekday working hours (so need to take time off work if working full time and don't work in the Sydenham area, which I didn't). Then for the fittings, I was ONLY allowed to go for that appointment on Saturdays. Keep this in mind if you're looking for your dress fairly last minute.
