Good Points
Simple, proven design. Lots of torque. Excellent handling. Reasonable maintenance costs. Classic V-Twin sound. Different from everything out there.
Bad Points
Dealers can be difficult to deal with. Minor quality control issues can be annoying. Power output less than newer engines with half the displacement. Limited after-market part selection. Air-cooled design delivers a fair amount of heat to rider. Cooling fan is loud. Owners can be snubbed by riders of other brands.
General Comments
Buell American Motorcycles - People either love them or hate them. No one argues a Buell's ability to corner, but the dated engine design is not enough for a lot of today's riders. It is a mix of technological advancement and old-school power. If you like the simplicity of an air-cooled V-twin that never requires a valve adjustment, along with classic sound and low-rpm torque- then this bike is for you. If you lean towards ultra high-revving, high horse power liquid cooled propulsion, then look elsewhere.
