The car did actually turn up and was the correct model

General Comments

Throughout the entire planning process leading up to the wedding, I had difficulty in getting my head around exactly who was driving my car, whether I had booked it or not, and whether it had been paid for. At first I was told that I had booked and confirmed a red morse Jaguar for my wedding which I chose on the basis of the colour alone, and explained that I wanted the car to make two trips from my house, first for the bridesmaids, then back for myself and my father. A few weeks before the wedding I was told that the owner of the car had a stroke and would not be able to do the job, I'd have to pick another car, and that there was another red morse jag we could get hold of, but the man had to make a few calls. After a good 2 weeks of waiting for an answer, I called to find that he'd re-booked a car for me without telling me. I never received confirmation on payments because 'the accounts person is away' and one went missing, causing me to have to cancel the cheque with my bank. I was finally allowed to know the actual identity and number of the driver a day before the wedding and called him to run through the details which he said were all fine, apart from the two trips scenario, which he seemed to have a massive problem with, regardless of the fact I was paying £395 for a five minute journey and he could go as soon as we were at the venue. Anyhow, on the morning of the wedding, having had an extremely calm few hours, I received a call from Pandora's Cars, saying the car was not available, just like that. I had to have a blue one instead, which caused panic when it turned up an hour early, left with the bridesmaids, got lost, and didn't make it back for me until 10 minutes after I was due to be walking up the aisle. I got to the venue 35 minutes late, having again got lost, and had to direct the driver the whole way even though he'd just made the trip. It was apparent there was little planning done with the route and a sat nav was used which is notoriously unreliable in the City of London where everything is one way and there are always diversions. Like the lady above, all correspondence regarding the car hire was largely illegible to me and quite short. I got to the venue in a much worse state than I thought I ever would. Let's say, it wasn't the best start I could have had to my wedding and although I of course had an amazing day, I felt very short changed and frustrated about not only the car itself, but the way it was all handled.
