Pontins, Wall Park Review

Good Points
Resort itself very clean. Units seem to be gradually getting overhauled, but the budget units are still quite tatty. We had a free upgrade to classic (quite common I think - receptionist told me they don't often use the budget sleep 6 units at all). Some entertainment staff were excellent - especially the guy who ran the kids fun dances part of the evening. Pool was great, and kids enjoyed the play park.

Bad Points
Even the classic unit was pretty basic, but it was clean, and no real problems. We thought the kids "club" was poor. The "club" is a soft-play area, and playhouse plastic furniture. Fine itself, but when we were there, was overseen by two 19year old girls who spent the whole time just chatting between themselves. Barely any "activities" as such - and seldom any effort made to welcome / engage the kids. No responsibility taken for looking after the kids. Adults expected to stay with the kids. (but not many do)

General Comments
Our expectations were quite low (given lots of comments online) - our free classic upgrade probably helped, and whilst the unit was basic, it was simply a bed for the night. In future, I'd pay the extra for a sleep 6 unit, to get the second bedroom (I didn't like the sofa-bed much). Looks like the owners are spending money to gradually improve the units.

Reception were great, and the entertainment was......variable. Less activities on during the day than I had expected.
