shelly tracey's Review of Charente Maritime, La Motte
1st Sep 2008
Overall Rating
- Value for money

The toilets and showers were amazingly clean honest to god spotless and living in France ourselves that is pretty good to start with. The owner is one of the nicest blokes we've ever met, he was extremely helpful and the way he opened his house to us was truly lovely we were able to chill our beers and put some other essentials (fizzy wine ginger ale for the whiskey of course) oh and cheese and ham for the inevitable ham and cheese butties (for the hangovers). My little boy (who never shuts up) really enjoyed himself too he had great fun terrorizing the owner and the goats and the chicks which he wanted to take home
General Comments
It was just lovely to be able to sit and relax and not worry if my son was bored because there was loads for him to do and see and Beau Vallon which is literally five minutes up the road is a beautiful swimming lake. The restaurant there did really nice value for money meals so all in all a brilliant trip and the owner is going to e-mail us if there is anything good going on so we can pop down for the weekend. We thoroughly recommend the campsite (the best we have ever been too) and of course the owners hospitality which knew no bounds.
