Good Points
Nexus gearing allows gear changing at stand still, and the chain doesn't fall off! Why are these trouble free gears not more widely used?
Roller brakes progressive and certainly strong enough for roads and paths. Proper mountain biking might need more braking power.

Bad Points
Riding position low. I have put a 45 degree raiser in.

General Comments
I bought a Carrera Subway 8 from Halfords, a third off as it was last years model etc. Excellent value for 270 quid.

And it was equipped with mud guards.

I agree that a black/grey bike is the least reflective and not a bright idea.
