We have a Patterdale called Trigger, we acquired him when he was 1 year old and fell in love with him. He is a really nice looking dog, just the right size for our family, playful, funny and good with children, other dogs and he travels well. He does not lose much hair and does not smell 'doggy'.

At one year old he is untrainable. He cannot be let off the lead, he escaped from our garden one time and killed two of my neighbours chickens. He has a fierce blood lust, he has killed and eaten hedgehogs, the spikes did not bother him as he seems so hardy that he feels no pain. He eats birds, frogs, flies, wasps, spiders, crabs and fish, you name it, he eats it. He will not come when called and I fear its only a matter of time before he either gets run over or is shot by a farmer for sheep worrying. Despite his bad points I love him to bits. I am considering an electric collar, I am dubious that he would respond to pain, but its worth a try.
