Bad Points

The seat, what were they thinking? It looks cool, but so do hardtails. I couldn't ride for more than 20-30 minutes without getting numb. The signal lights and taillight - really ugly. Rear drum brake and not having a 6 speed or better gear ratio at high speed to reduce the buzz feeling.

General Comments

Shadow Spirit VT750 2005 Chain Drive. Very comfortable bike to drive alone and with a passenger. The center of gravity is just right, seating position is excellent. I am 5'11" - 32 inseam and I sit perfectly on it. The fat gas tank, wide flat bars detailed engine and loads of chrome get a lot of compliments. The bike is so smooth running, no shaking like an HD, yet mine has an a nice low rumble from the stock pipes minus the baffles. Gas mileage is 50 MPG! I bought my bike in Summer 2008, from the second owner with only 868 miles on it. At the time of writing, I've owned it 7 weeks, drive it every day - except the few that it rained and have put on over 2000 miles. The previous owner removed the muffler baffles so it looks stock; however, is loud as and free flowing as straight pipes. The carbs were then adjusted for the pipes. I have changed out a few parts that have made my bike more comfortable and gives it more bad ass appeal. The seat is a Mustang Vintage style with driver's backrest and stud trim. Riding position put me up about 1.5" so I lowered the bike with a simple lowering braket kit - down 1.5". Then the taillights and brakelight/license bracket had to go. I have a sidemount plate and taillight - really sweet - balances out the rear very well - best $100 spent. Rear signal lights replaced with smaller bullets with very intense halogen bulbs. Front signals I added chrome trim rings, they look like larger bullets. I wanted them to remain larger to be noticeable by other drivers. I added chrome trim to cover the front brake caliper and a left side chrome part to cover that ugly black part of the frame from the sprocket cover rearward. I have a new elongated headlight on it's way that well dress up the front, giving it a customized look and chopper appeal. All together the accessories: Used seat excellent condition $400, lights and trim for them, $200, chrome parts $200, lowering kit $100, billet aluminum pegs front and rear, $200 new headlight and mount $150. About a $1200 in extras and she's a custom cruiser. Factory royal blue with smoke silver flames.
