Good Points

This is a great machine, one you will have the rest of your life and in comparison in price alone with other brands it is a real deal. Don't buy an over priced machine and don't buy a cheap machine, save your money until you can buy a good strong sewing machine.

Bad Points

Can't think of any! And I can't think of any features that could come out on a later model that would make me consider replacing my 7200.

General Comments

I've had my Elna 7200 Pro for almost 3 years now and I've put it through a lot. I am a professional fiber artist and my machine gets a serious work out everyday and it has never given me one problem. I like the extra reach, and how it starts and stops a sewn line with a locking stitch and then it draws the top thread to the back and cuts it, this is a real time saving feature for the way I work. The independent bobbin winder is great too. I have other Elnas and so it was very easy to learn how to work this machine, heck it would have been easy to learn this machine even if I'd never used any other machine. It is a pretty machine and for some reason that matters to me, it makes me want to work with it. Also I like the more rounded edges that Elna machines have say in comparison to Berninas. I teach art quilting at a store that sells Berninas and they asked me to use their machine instead of mine to do demos, I tell that Bernina makes me nuts. It keeps jamming on me. Sorry but I'd take a Elna or a Viking well before I'd ever think about buying an over priced Bernina.
