Reliability and performance excellent, a very roomy bike one up, and not bad two up.
The old model like mine (2001) is very reasonably priced now, and they do make good all rounders, have hauled full givi luggage, camping gear and pillion to many rallies, carries extra weight well.
Riding position and comfort is good, I have ridden mine 500 miles over a weekend, and no discomfort.
The pitting of forks problem has affected mine too, due to laquered alluminium , the laquer breaks down and allows moisture under, the only cure being to strip the laquer and polish the forks off the bike.
The fuel consumption seems a bit heavy, but then again putting about 95bhp through 600cc, approx 40 mpg is not too bad.
The one at a time headlights could be better, but I have been told you can alter the wiring to fix this, I hardly do any night riding so it doesn`t really bother me.
You can ride these bikes at 100 mph all day with no problems , really excellent value for money.
Like all across the frame fours they are a bit buzzy and bland compared with a slow revving V twin or a triple.
Superb brakes taken from the R1 make the bike stop on a sixpence if needed, and have not had any sticky calliper problems like a lot of bikes.
I have no hesitation in recommending these bikes, and would certainly buy another.
