General Comments

I had a Gilera SMT 50 for a year and it was definitely a decent bike, especially for learners. It's upright, it's comfortable and it's not so fast that you'll end up killing yourself, in fact there's not even enough power in it to high side it. If you have it unrestricted this thing will do 50mph roughly, and is pretty fun on the corners, you can have it full throttle around and corner and not have to worry about the back end slipping out. On a 2 stroke 50cc engine problems are going to be plenty. If you 'thrashing it day in day out then of course your going to yourself replacing spark plugs a hell of a lot. When I first got it, problems were plenty. Rubbish gearbox, dodgy back brake, front headlight decided to switch itself on and off whenever it felt like and even the back wheel barring collapsed and nearly threw me off. Ended up having to fork out £170 for repairs. At the end of the day, this is a good bike for learners however you'll have to expect a few problems, but like I said, it's a 2 stroke 50cc engine so you can't expect perfection from this.
