Booked a private caravan which was very clean and modern with a good sea view. Prices for drinks was reasonable.
Swimming pool was filthy and the changing rooms smelt. All the toilets on the complex were disgusting, smelly and dirty. Clubhouses were too small and not enough seats. Sonny Jims carvery was a rip off for the price. Not enough for bored children of teenage age. Over priced activities.
Our holiday to Haven was a big let down, luckily we booked a private caravan and didn't need to check in at reception and the caravan was very clean and modern. The weather for August was terrible so we resorted to going swimming nearly every day where the pool was dirty and the changing rooms were disgusting as they smelt, the pool contained a lot of bugs and leaves! The lockers cost £1 which was non returnable which mounted up if you ever forgot anything or wanted to put something in the locker. We thought we would treat the kids to the carvery at Sonny Jims which cost £7.95 per person so the cost for the 6 of us came to £60 with a drink each and were told we could only have 1 choice of meat and 1 slice only and very thin that was! Thought carverys give the option of a choice of 2 meats? The entertainment in the evening was a let down and the clubhouses were too small for the amount of people on the site, the toilets were dirty and smelly, I had to wipe my feet on the way out! The only good thing about the bars were the drinks were reasonable for a caravan site. We have decided not to return to Devon Cliffs again.
