Some good water rides like Stormforce 10 and splash Canyon (Be prepared you will get wet!). A nice mix of thrill rides and rides for young children.
Queues, queues, queues! It is all spoiled by traffic congestion getting into the park. It took 25 mins to drive to Fazely from where we are curently living and then 1hr and 10mins stuck in the jam to get in! Once there you have to queue to pay to get in (no visible staff directing people to places to pay) absolute chaos it took approx 50mins to get to the kiosk to pay! Poor crowd control, people changing queues and no queuing barriers to help guide people. Then there were the queues for the actual rides. There are no visible signs letting you know how long the waiting times are for the rides. Inadequate crowd control (especially in Thomas Land) much confusion as to which queue is for which ride. Could not tell from map alone if our children were the right height for the rides as they are not published in the map. You could end up joining a queue that your children were not suitable for. Sent hubby for some water whilst we queued for Stormforce 10. We moved about 20ft in 30mins before he returned. You could not buy food and drink at the same time there were 2 queues! Not all the food venues were open causing more queues. (Glad we brought a picnic which we ate whilst in the car in the traffic jam!) The environment surrounding the rides was litter strewn (not all of it looked like it was todays litter). Only managed 6 rides would have been less had we had to eat there. Very few visible staff except those serving food or operating the rides. Put it this way, it was our first and our last visit to Drayton Manor!
On the day we went it was massivley oversubscribed just not enough room for so many people. My advice to you would be never attempt Drayton Manor during the school summer holidays unless of course you have no objection to major queuing! It has the potential to be a great place to visit. Perhaps British Theme park owners should view theme parks on the continent to show how it should be done!
