Good Points

SD maps allows use of North American Maps as well as European Maps, Upfront pricing was strong point in choice.

Bad Points

Maps are out of date and updates from Becker are none existent. Accessories are limited in offering. It took nearly a year for Becker to offer an Adapter as a accessory. There is no way to get detailed info on a displayed POI. When maps are installed there is no room for MP3 or JPG images. Mood lighting is a battery drain not needed. No real time traffic information.

General Comments

Decompression error was presented with POI search for Orlando, Fl. in first week of ownership. Out of box bug in software I think. Tech support suggestions of reloading maps to SD card and this process failed repeatedly. Discovered on my own that a USB 2.0 card reader was required to complete the new download of the version 1.0 maps. This finally took care of the decompression error. I purchased the Euro Map SD card and used the system in the UK from London to Cambridge. Worked flawlessly on roundabouts and general routes. There are many POI references in the display. For instance, just a hamburger icon is displayed for the fast food restaurant, there is no way to find out what kind it is. address or phone. Same for Gas Stations. Other GPS systems will provide details at a touch of the screen. Overall I would say the device works well and was a good value. I typically don't need MP3 player or a picture viewer. I would like better portability between the car and my motorcycle. Accessories for mounting to a motorcycle other than a 1 inch handle bar do not exist. Becker needs to expand its vision for the US market.
